I brought my van in because I wanted to have my wheel bearings replaced. I was told that the likely cause wouldn’t be the bearings. So I agreed to a diagnostic on the front end. After the diag I was told the front end was good but my brakes where completely worn and it would cost $2323 to do the full job. I was also told that my wheel bearings where the press on type. I didn’t pay for the service, just the diag fee of $158. Once I got home I decided to do the job myself, and I found that my brakes where NOT completely worn, the wheel bearings are NOT the press in type, my front end bushings DO need replacing and I don’t think they even took the tire off( the tire off part is probably my frustration of doing this with my limited schedule but you get the picture). My experience was not good. Some others may have different experiences. I don’t expect an apology or a statement I want people to be aware
Hi Tomas, I was concerned to hear that you felt like we didn't live up to your expectations as a valued customer and I immediately called you, however; I had to leave messages and have not heard back from you. We highly value our reputation and will do whatever we need to do to make things right. When you have a 2001 Ford E350 van with 211,000 miles on it, and with a none OEM hydraulic boom bucket (man lift) assembly mounted on a large platform attached to the rear of the vehicle, we were concerned about the safety and integrity of the vehicle. We measured the thickness of the brake pads and rotors with a machinists ruler and caliper, and found that you have very little time left on these brake pads, especially with the weight this vehicle has on it, before they get down to a "metal to metal" condition, resulting in a "unsafe to drive condition". The rotors are already worn down beyond the limits of resurfacing and will also have to be replaced. On our written estimate, we stated we recommended replacing the brake pads, rotors and wheel seals (front and rear), which would include re-packing the front wheel bearings. I am sorry that you were not happy and if you would like to discuss this further, I will be happy to explain in more detail, the safety concerns that we professionally felt needed the most urgent attention at this time, as well as my recommendations of what can be done to help with the extreme weight distribution problem in the rear of this vehicle, which effects the steering and front end. We appreciate you coming to us for service for your vehicle, and if I can further assist you, please feel free to call or come by anytime.
